Isabella Phillips

Born in Fremont, California, Isabella Phillips is the youngest and only daughter of four children. She began her dance training at age 8 at Coastal Dance and Music Academy in Pismo Beach, CA, and continued at San Francisco Ballet School where she performed in Helgi Tomasson's Nutcracker productions from 2009-2013, Coppelia in 2011, and Don Quixote in 2012. In 2014 she began training with the faculty of The New Ballet School (then running Ballet San Jose School). Dancing with Silicon Valley Ballet (formerly Ballet San Jose), Isabella performed alongside the professional company as a Snowflake in Karen Gabay's Nutcracker in 2015 and as a Wili in the U.S. Premier of Alicia Alonso's Giselle in 2015. Her summer training includes programs at Joffrey Ballet Chicago in 2009, an international program held in Panama in 2009 and 2010 taught by Ms. Yoira Esquivel Brito and Madame Amparo Brito from National Ballet of Cuba, the San Francisco Ballet Summer Intensive from 2011-2013, and at Ellison Ballet, NYC, in 2013 on full scholarship. In June 2014, she was also offered full scholarship to Ballet Philippines. Apart from dance, Isabella is a self-taught pianist and learned guitar from her dad. Isabella is excited to originate the role of the California Poppy in the premiere of The San Jose Nutcracker.
